Past Progressive — Прошлое Прогрессивное время.

Past Progressive is used for an action going on, at some point in the past. Past Progressive is formed with the help of past form of the auxiliary verb to be was / were and with the help of the suffix – ing.

Was is used for singular and were is used for plural.

I was going to school. We were drinking water.

You were doing your job. You were singing.

He was driving a car. They were making breakfast.

Interrogative is formed — was / were + subject + verb + ing.

Was I drinking coffee?

Negative — was / were +not + verb+ ing.

You were not reading.
