- She asked them when he would come back.
- The criminal asks where I live.
In indirect speech we make some changes. We change tenses, persons, construction. We change Present Indefinite into Past Indefinite, Present Perfect into Past Perfect. We change Future Indefinite into Conditional. We change interrogative sentence into affirmative sentence. The first person is changed into the third person. But if the first part is in Present we don't change tense of the sentence.
