1. a) Was Victor explaining the new rule for you after the lesson? —Разве Виктор объяснил вам новое правило после урока?
2. b) When were the children decorating their classroom? — Когда дети украшали свой класс?
3. c) Were the boys playing football when I went into the yard? —Играли ли мальчики в футбол, когда я вышел во двор?

There are four kinds of interrogative sentences. They are General question, Special question, Alternative question and Disjunctive question.

The first and the third questions are General question. The second question is Special question.

General question — auxiliary verb + subject + verb.

Special question — interrogative word + auxiliary + subject + verb.
